OVERVIEW

Laithwaite’s Wine is an online shopping website with a great selection of Red Wine, White Wine, Rosé Wine & more. They wanted to redesign the user journey of sending wine gifts to target a younger audience.

The goal was to create a new Gift journey for existing & new customers to grow this business segment. We will, while taking into account the competition, identify the strongest proposition and messaging for communications.

The UX process

As part of this project, my role was to collaborate with the UX team on crafting user journeys for the Laithwaite's Gift experience. Then I translated the wireframes into key pages by applying the website design guidelines (produced by Red Badger).

For this project, the UX designer provided me with a wireframe Annotation including the site map. The goal is to make the understanding of how and why something should work as clear as possible to anyone viewing the wireframes. (Clients, Designers, Developers, etc.). Annotations help clarify how something should work that is represented in a static wireframe.

DESIGN PROCESS

To create those key pages, we will need to use the design system library.

VISUAL LANGUAGE

Designing new banners involving emotional key messaging for 3 types of users:

The Gift finder: Excitement, trust, confidence, enthusiasm, belief, comfort.
The Gift receiver: Love, belief, enjoyment, excitement, contentment, satisfaction, fulfillment, gratefulness.
Laithwaite’s: easy, enjoyable, memorable, pleasurable, shareable, satisfying.

Conclusion

As a UI/UX Designer this was really helpful to be involved in the whole process. Especially with
the Wireframe Annotation which allows me to answer my questions about different interactions
and work faster.
